How often do you stay on track?

It’s day six of trying to be healthy and fit. I’ve gone for a 30-45 minute walk/jog everyday except saturday. Saturday I went to a wedding expo and was on my feet for about 6 hours, so I thought that made up for it!

I stepped on the scale today for the first time since my first weigh in..and I’ve lost: nothing! I’m SO disappointed! I feel like I’ve been doing so well with no fast food, no junk. All healthy food and exercising every day. This just makes me want to eat a cheeseburger and fries more than ever! But I won’t.

This just means I’m going to work harder than before! I want to say that drinking has been holding me back from losing weight this week…so I’ve decided to only have a couple of drinks ONCE a week. (I’ve already had a drinks 5 out of 6 nights) I’m going to work as hard as possible to stay on track sunday through friday and allow myself saturday to kick back and have a relaxing day with a few rum and diets, and maybe even a bag o chips! a “cheat” day if you will. But remember to not go TOO crazy…you wouldn’t want to fall back into your old ways, right?

The weekend is here! Keep in mind it’s usually harder to stay on track with your diet and exercise routine when it’s friday night and you want to go out. What do you substitute?

I just got back from the grocery store and thought I would share some of my good findings!

I like to eat sandwiches for lunch but they can stack up the calories if your not careful! Here’s what I found:

Whole grain bread: 70 cal per slice
Heart healthy tortilla (roasted chipotle) 120 cal
Lean sandwich meat: 50 cal per 3 slices
Low fat cheese slices: 50 cal per slice
Miracle Whip (Mayo sub): 50 cal per Tbsp

Add in some fresh lettuce and tomatoes! Delicious AND low in calories and fat. I know sandwiches aren’t too filling on their own so, I got some 100 calories packets of baked cheetoes. You can get just about any chips available in a 100 cal pack!

Craving something salty? Eat when you’re bored? Sunflower seeds! They are cheap ($1 for a small bag), VERY salty, they take your mind off wanting to stuff your face, and by the time you feel like you’ve eaten too many…you’ve probably only taken in 150 calories!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve got a sweet tooth! Something health yet sweet: fruit roll ups. Only 50 calories, but satisfying :] Chewy granola bars can also hit the spot…just go with the reduced fat or sugar. Flavors like oatmeal-raisin, chocolate chip, and peanut butter are fabulous.

Keep in mind that some thing are just plain bad when you get the diet version of it. For example: Orange juice! Some things like this are just better in the original form…just drink a little bit of the regular instead of a lot of the diet.

I’m on a mission!

It’s the first Monday of a new year, 2011. This means everyone is supposed to drop the candy bars, and pick up the tennis shoes! I’ve had a VERY rough 2010. My heart has been broken, lost my job, and didn’t do so well in school. I have a feeling this year is my year. I’m on a mission to get fit. I’m currently at the highest weight I’ve been. Ever. Stress makes you eat and not want to work out. So I’m going to set some goals for ME. Not anyone else.

My goals!

Most importantly I need to fix my back. I’ve been though six months of chiropractor, physical therapy, doctors, and endless hours of EVERYONE poking around at me. And not my doctor wants to put me on antidepressants and and try out steroid shots.. I’ve had enough! These people are idiots so I’m just going to have to figure it out for myself.

To help fix my back I’m going to set these goals in hope that it will help.

Lose weight! My goal weight is 150 lbs. I currently weigh (I think) 197 lbs. I know it’s a big goal to lose 47 pounds and I probably won’t make it quiet that far but it’s something to strive for!

Get fit! I don’t just want to be skinny, I want to be strong, and lean. I want girls to be able to look up to be for having a strong body, not just skin and bones. I’m going to work on my core muscles the most to strengthen my back!

Eat healthy! The hardest part… Putting down that bag of chips and picking up some fresh veggies or an apple. I’m going to make it fun. Make some ants on a log! Do something I love beside eating when I get bored like sing, draw, or play with my dog :] Losing weight isn’t just about working out and eating less. I want to be HEALTHY, not just plain old thin.

My goal is to rock a bikini this summer, and blow the doctors away! I want to be motivation for all kinds of people whether you want to lose 10 pounds, or 100 pounds. If you want to just get fit and be healthy for the sake of feeling amazing everyday, follow me!

I’ll keep this site updated with daily exercises and eating habits. I’ll find fun stuff for you to do to keep fit and healthy. Every two weeks I will update my weight loss and how much closer I’m getting to my own goals. I would love to hear your feedback too!
